paradigm is my favorite speaker company, so i'm very familiar with these. i have the studio reference 20's as my main speakers, but i considered these before making my purchase. had i not been willing to spend more for a little bit better sounding speaker, i would have bought the mini-monitors. i urge anyone who wants an affordable, high-fidelity speaker to give these a chance, and i promise you that you will not be disappointed. they are incredibly smooth, and produce tight, accurate bass response that you would never expect from a speaker this size. in fact, when i first heard them i thought there was a powered subwoofer hooked up! i am as critical a listener as anyone i know, yet i can't say a single negative thing about this speaker or this company.
