After going through a long a painful separation which left my credit in disrepair I had had planned on using the AMS three pay plan to order my children an Apple iMac for Christmas at $999. The AMS website states that all sales up to $999 and some odd change are able to to be billed in three separate payments without a credit check. My girlfriend called early in the day to verify this before placing the order on-line.
So here I am a few weeks out from Xmas and order my computer. I received an email and phone call later in the day from their credit department stating that they need to run a credit check. When I point out that the cost is under their threshold for a credit check they tell me they changed the policy and it's now all purchases over $995!!!
I pointed out that their web site did not address this and their system asked be for the three payment plan when I went to check out. The web site STILL says $999 however they state that the cut off is now $995.
When I spoke to supervisors at the call center who in turn spoke to supervisors in the credit they said they couldn't help me. Even after I pointed out that the mistake is theirs and that it's all over their web site not to mention we are talking about $4 making or breaking my Christmas for my kids they said they couldn't do anything.
This is the worst example of customer service I have ever seen in my life and will got out of my way to tell everyone I know about the terrible customer service I received from them especially during the holiday season.
