| Pilot30000's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P6300 CD Player |
The first time I turned this stereo on I forgot it was actually a radio. I was so overwhelmed by the graphical display and its capabilities that I didn't get to turning the volume up for like 10 minutes. You will be amazed simply by the ease of control and display this receiver provides for all of its numerous functions.
When I finally remembered that I bought this for the music and not visual entertainment, I was blown away a second time. The sound quality of this unit is excellent. I have the front channels going to a pair of 6.5" Polk components and the rear channels amped (75x2) to a pair of Polk 6x9's. I was planning on adding a subwoofer, but after hearing the ample amount of clear, crisp bass, I changed my mind.
The Supertuner III that Pioneer boasts is worth every bit of glitz they say it is. I drive far distances away from the city and the sound remains detailed and crisp. The searching of stations is easy with two buttons: press to go .2 MHZ at a time, or hold to seek. There are also 18 fm presets available. The CD portion of this is similar to all others, and the cool thing I found is that you can name discs without adding a cd changer.
The icing on the cake of this player is the different screen savers and displays this unit can show. There is 3D rings, an eagle flying, two cars racing, and power gauges to show left and right channels. This is all customizable to show a clock, or disc name, or time, or other stuff on top.
Another great thing is the numerous ways you can tweak the sound. I will not go into all this, but let me say these features will allow you to get the exact sound frequencies you want without the use of an external DSP.
All and all I would recommend spending the extra $100 to get this model over more basic ones. It was not long ago that Pioneer was selling similar models for $800, and now you can get it under $350. And it even comes with a remote.
