I am considering writing a review on Amazon Marketplace from the point of view of one addicted to music. Yours was very well-written and gave me some good insights into purchasing books. I have only purchased one book using the Marketplace system; information from someone more experienced was certainly appreciated.

I nearly got burned ordering a series of children's books. They were really cheap, but with the postage added to each item, my bill came to about £15 for books and £60 for postage. Luckily I noticed in time and the seller agreed to cancel my order which was good of them.
Nice review, all the relevant info there, and a nice thought to start the day with - second hand condoms...though maybe "second hand isn't the right term here.... yuk, I'm off for a coffee!

of an excellent service. I've enjoyed using Amazon sellers in the past, and like you have had very good experiences with them in general.
For really difficult to find out of print books, I've also used Alibris, and they're very good though the shipping costs are high there. I got spoiled because I used to use them when I was the acquisitions manager of a library, and they provide *great* shipping deals to institutions. Alas, not to individuals. So for personal purchases, I use Amazon more often than any other!

You explained this service in an excellent manner. You can also sell your items here as well as I sold many books this way. Since I was moving I needed to weed out my library and this was great and I earned over $500.00 in the process.

after having a couple of bad experiences in the past. I'll give a wide berth to the used Kleenex, Band-Aids and toilet paper, though.

I purchased several used books from Amazon a couple of weeks ago from two different sellers. Both books looked brand new and the prices were fabulous, even with the added postage.

This is an excellent review. I liked the way it started it with a very appropriate quote. I agree with your assessment of this on-line shopping option. I have found that after paying postage, I pretty much broke even in some of my purchases. Best wishes. Sheila
