Pros: Substantial noise cancellation; inexpensive; reasonably compact Cons: At this price point, none.
After nearly a year of travel-free employment, things have changed in a big way for me, and I'll be logging over 30,000 air miles in two months. I've never been one of those effete air travelers who bring along their pillow, Evian water, eyeshades, ...
Pros: decent noise-cancellation, good looks, excellent sound Cons: oversized, wind will break the noise cancellation and create a flutter effect.
I bought these headphones along with my Toshiba DVD player last March when I had a few red-eye flights scheduled for the rest of the year. I wanted something reasonably priced, with good and loud sound quality, and some noise reduction on the lower ...

Pros: Fairly neutral in the midrange, Noise cancellation at this price is great. Cons: You get what you pay for with the NC circuitry. Not a bargain.
When I finally became cool and took possession of an iPOD, I decided to spend alittle $$$ on some headphones. I had seen the Bose NC (noise cancellation) headphones and thought, "Woah, these are cool, but I can't afford a three digit sum to fulfill my ...
Pros: They reduce airplane cabin noise and sound good as well. Cons: None of any significance
I try not to stare, but whenever I board an airplane I have to inventory the electronics in the First Class cabin. On one trip I spied an Apple MacBook Air and two iPhones in the First Class cabin. The balance of these passenger were using ...
Pros: Good sound quality, good battery life, airplane adapter, cheap! Cons: Microphone placement, slightly inferior noise cancelling
Initial Impressions I know a lot of people will disagree with me here and before anybody shoots me down, ask yourself whether you have ever compared each of Sony's noise cancelling headphones side by side at the same time. Most electronics stores ...
Pros: Good starter for entry level noise cancellation. Price, half decent sound Cons: interference with wind
SONY MDR NC6 Got these headphones for a pretty good deal through work. Equiv to about $35. Can’t understand pricing of these as in the US they lists for $59 but can buy for about $39 but in Canada it listed and sells for $80-89 at Best buy or Sony ...
Pros: Decent sound, compact design, only requires one battery Cons: Painful after a while, noise canceling unit picks up wind, weird pops.
I bought these after breaking my Sennheiser PXC-150s and returning a pair of Creative HN-505s, hoping that they would fill the gap left by my Senns for a lower price (Circuit City had them for $40). I was initially pleased with the sound, providing ...

Low Price; Bad Noise Cancellation; Well Constructed by fstallin ,Oct 23 '07
Pros: well-built, good materials, includes a draw-string carrying bag, 3.5mm plug works with Ipods. Cons: Poor noise cancellation, adds a hiss to quieter sounds when N/C is engaged.
If you are looking for significant noise cancellation, these aren't for you. If listening to music, when you turn on the N/C, you get louder music with an added hiss that wasn't there before. For the cost, they are a well constructed, just not the pilot-quality of noise cancellation that you might be seeking.
Pros: Incredibly comfortable, noise cancellation comes cheap, the AAA battery seems to last for eternity. Cons: Slight sound leakage, and the cord could stand to be longer (in my opinion.)
I picked up a pair of these at Office Depot for $40 recently after a friend recommended them. The noise cancellation effect really gave my previous headphones (some old earplug types) a kick in the butt. I generally use these late at night on my computer. Being a night-owl gamer isn't easy in a dormitory or apartment when you really want to be blasted out of your seat by sound. They did the trick nicely, I must say. No one hears what I'm watching / listening to / playing, and the noise cancellation effect works beautifully for my needs. My computer belts out this horrible loud hum from all the fans and crap, which the headphones will filter out nearly completely. All that is left is a soft drone that even the lowest amount of volume will overtake.
They've come in handy at work too. My cube neighbor hates my angry aggressive rock and incessant techno (his words.) Now, he doesn't have anything to worry about.
Pros: Neat folding design. Nice bag to keep them in. Good on a train. Cons: Hopeless on a plane or anywhere with high frequency noise
I brought these as a frequent flier. I was concerned about turning up the volume on my CD player, and the in-flight system to drown out the background noise with conventional headphones.
These seemed great value, and the box had a plane on it, so I thought they would be perfect. In practice they seem to amplify the high frequency wind noise on the plane! Causing a very high frequency hiss. I checked the leaflet that came with them, and sure enough it said, in certain situations with a lot of high frequency background noise, these headphones will be better without the Noise Reduction turned off (!)
I now use headphones with physical isolation, rather than cheap circuitry that tops out at 1500Hz
