Pros: Price Cons: Durability, default functionality
My Toshiba W602, bought at Costco, broke within the first year, eating a tape in the process. The machine no longer will load a tape or run it. It ate a rental tape, causing me huge frustration with the video rental shop.

Pros: Has Dolby B,C and Hx Pro with auto reverse and level control Cons: Poor audio, muffled sound, weak highs
I had recently considered buying a new cassette deck to replace my basic Kenwood model. Finding something other than a Sony was hard in store due to the dwindling supply of tape decks. But at J&R music world in NYC they carried more brands. When I saw...

This is a Dual not single(EXCELLENT SOUND
by proud-papa ,Mar 26 '06
Pros: Excellent recording and playback
quality, easy to use. Cons: There are no cons as far as I'm concerned
*THIS IS A DUAL CASSETTE DECK NOT A SINGLE DECK*
I purchased the Teac W-790-R
Dual Cassette Deck and was amazed at the recording quality(using
high bias type2 blank tapes)
It lets you set the recording level and has pitch control.
It features DOLBY B&C noise reduction. Three play modes,
high speed dubbing.
The bottom line, some recordings
will sound just as good as CD's.
Though cassette decks are becoming obsolete, this Teac model
is probably one of the best that you will find out of any brand at any price. Also see the Teac 860 Dual Cassette Deck.

Good all around, simple deck
by eddie-p ,Apr 25 '08
Pros: Simple to use, easy hook up, reasonably priced. Cons: No seperate channel level adjustments, no back lit windows.
For every day use, this deck is not complicated at all. Very straight forward operation. Fast dubbing. You can use multiple types of tapes (metal, cr02, normal) It has multiple jacks to record from all your components. CD player, reciever, turntable. It has lighted LED level meters. I also have it hooked up to an equalizer. For the price, you can't go wrong. And it is made by a reputable company that has been around for years. I have had Teac decks for years, I have owned nothing but. I had to replace my older deck, and immediately chose this Teac deck.
